• The Conference Dinner will be held at the Boston Cambridge Marriott Hotel, close to the M.I.T. campus. Only a few guest tickets are still available, and none may be available during on-site registration.

The new regular Registration Fee not including the Proceedings and not including the Conference Dinner is $ 160.- (no charge for students). Space is available for you at all Lectures at the Conference. Note that the Proceedings Books published by Elsevier can directly be ordered from Elsevier at the Conference (the price is not known yet).

Please register under these conditions to attend the Conference. Registration is no longer available. We are looking forward to welcome you at M.I.T.

The Proceedings of the First Conference can be obtained through the MIT website. This Conference was held in the same spirit as the First Conference held at M.I.T. on June 12 - 15, 2001. This web site now contains partial details of the Second Conference.

Call for Papers

The scientific program will consist of plenary lectures, mini-symposia, special sessions, and contributed lectures presented in parallel sessions. 

 

Prospective authors are invited to submit -- after July 15, 2002 and prior to September 30, 2002 -- a paper of up to 1600 words on topics related to the theme of the Conference. 
 

Your paper may contain up to 1600 words, plus up to four figures or tables (in total). If the total number of figures or tables exceeds four, your word count should be reduced by approximately 100 words per additional figure or table.

Your paper manuscript must contain an abstract, main body, conclusions, etc., see Guide for Authors.

You must submit to the Conference Secretariat by email only, two files together in one email, that is:

• First file: the manuscript (formatted to print on size A4, or 8.5 inch by 11 inch paper, see Guide for Authors) 
   
• Second file: a completed summary sheet (see Summary Sheet)

Note:

1. Each e-mail must be smaller than 5 MB.
2. If your file is in postscript (.ps) format, please zip the file.

Regular mail or courier, or fax submissions will not be considered.

If you have had contact with a Special Session/Mini-Symposium Organizer, then please submit the paper ONLY as requested by the Organizer.

Your paper must follow the detailed format given in the Format for papers.

Papers should contain an abstract, conclusions and relevant references. All communications must be in English and bear the names of all authors, their affiliations and full mailing addresses.

Please note that the proceedings will be typeset by the publisher, Elsevier Science, and hence manuscripts should be submitted in a single column format, double spaced. All papers will be reviewed. A copyright transfer form will be sent to authors upon acceptance of their contribution. Authors will also be sent proofs for checking (anticipated January to March 2003). As the Proceedings are being published to a fixed schedule, prompt return of proofs is essential. The publisher reserves the right to publish papers directly from the proof copy if authors have not returned their corrected proofs on schedule. This is important to ensure that the Proceedings are available at conference registration. 

Authors will be informed prior to December 30, 2002 regarding acceptance of their contribution for presentation at the Conference and publication in the Proceedings. 

 

Any person interested in organizing a special session on any topic relating to the Conference should contact the Conference Secretariat. 

 

The accepted papers will be published in the bound and CD-ROM versions of the Proceedings at the time of the Conference, in the format of the Proceedings of the First M.I.T. Conference held on June 12 - 15, 2001. The Proceedings of the First Conference can be obtained through Elsevier.
